Recent Rubyisms- (I don't believe in isms I just believe in me) Winter 2007/2008

5. She is becoming such an independent being. Partly due to the newborn I imagine, Ruby's ability to entertain self has increased dramatically. It's not surprising to find Ruby reading a stack of books on the green rug when she awakes. Then you might find her creating an artistic masterpiece or cutting paper. I think she has been comissioned by some confetti factory....Also, if in earshot of her independent playing, you will hear that she indeed is NOT alone. She is constantly talking and pretending with her buds: Shrek, Charming, Fiona and Hona ( her friend/sister from Africa).
4. She loves words! She is very close to reading (GENIUS, we know) and is hypersensitive to letters, letter sounds, words and word meaning. She also enjoys disagreeing with you when you answer her question: "What does ______ mean?" Example of Ruby retort: "No, RARELY means you gotta have it all the time!" ok.
3. Anything related to music has Ruby's attention-she loves to compose on the piano, play percussion, create one-woman bands (yes, she refers to herself as a woman), invent lyrical melodies and SHAKE it like only she knows how!
2. She speaks for Miles in a shrill, even higher voice than usual (yes, it is possible). She often tells me (for Miles) that he doesn't want to eat anymore and he doesn't want to be held- Go figure.
1. Shrek, Shrek, Shrek....he is her imaginary firend, husband and ogre. She can somehow relate everything back to Shrek
